01Provider
BriefEasy ("the app") is provided by ("we"):

02The service
BriefEasy analyzes photographs of German official letters using artificial intelligence, summarizes and translates their content, and can generate draft replies in formal German.
03AI assistance, not legal advice
BriefEasy is an AI-powered assistant. Analyses, summaries, translations and draft replies are generated automatically and are provided for your information and convenience only. They do not constitute legal, tax or other professional advice, and despite careful engineering, AI output can be incomplete or incorrect.
Always check important details against the original letter. For matters with legal or financial consequences, consult a qualified professional or the issuing authority. You are responsible for any reply you send.
04Your account
- You must provide a valid e-mail address and keep your credentials confidential.
- You may only scan documents you are lawfully allowed to process.
- We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (e.g. automated mass requests, attempts to circumvent usage limits).
05Free tier and ads
The free tier includes a limited number of scans; afterwards, scans can be unlocked by voluntarily watching a rewarded advertisement. Fair-use limits apply to protect the service.
06Premium subscription
- Premium (unlimited scans, no ads) is available as an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription, purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Payment is charged to your store account.
- The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel anytime in your store account settings; access continues until the period ends.
- Statutory withdrawal rights for digital content purchased through the stores are handled by Apple/Google under their terms.
07Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. AI analysis depends on third-party infrastructure and may be temporarily unavailable.
08Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence, we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations (Kardinalpflichten), limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected. Any further liability, in particular for decisions you make based on AI-generated content, is excluded.
09Changes
We may update these terms with effect for the future, for example when features change or the law requires it. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
10Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. Should individual provisions be invalid, the remainder stays in force.
